Indonesia Tourism Academy (AKPINDO) Jakarta who shelter under the Tourism Education Development Foundation (YLBPP) has stood since 1967. But in the course of its history, the Academy initiated its establishment and raised at first by Yayasan Bina Dharma until the year 1983

In 1983, Yayasan Bina Dharma AKPINDO fully surrender to YLBPP, since the main founder Mr. Rachmat Mulia, SH at that time his health is poor. He gave the leadership of the Foundation to the next generation, which some alumni AKPINDO to develop and nurture AKPINDO accordance with the ideals he and the purpose of establishment AKPINDO.

Since then AKPINDO continue to organize yourself and grow. Graduates up to now is pretty much spread across the country, some even work overseas. They worked in the hospitality industry, airlines, travel companies, and the offices of governance, such as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Department of Tourism-Region, and related agencies. There's even an entrepreneur in several business sectors that have anything to do with tourism.

The method is ready to be used as the central principle of working in education in AKPINDO, as one education-carrier task force to prepare a skilled workforce and educated. In addition, AKPINDO always strive for the material being taught and perlatihannya clearly be related (relevant) to the needs of the world work, especially Indonesia's tourism industry.

Indonesia Tourism Academy who received the title as a pioneer of tourism education in Indonesia has gained trust from the tourism industry, such as hotels, travel agencies and others. Thanks to the trust mentioned above, AKPINDO not have problems in placing its students to do internship (on the job training) and research in tourism industries, in government offices and private, relating to tourism, both in Jakarta and the city- other cities
